Where to park at Citi Field?
There are several parking lots at Citi Field. You can park on-site in the official lots for $40 per car/$80 per large vehicle at regular season Mets games. The rates increase to $60 per car/$120 per oversized vehicle at postseason games or special events.
How old is Citi Field?
Citi Field opened in 2009 as a replacement for the old Shea Stadium. As of 2024, it is 15 years old.
Can I tailgate at Citi Field?
Tailgating is allowed in certain lots under specific conditions, subject to venue security checks and socially responsible behavior:

- Guests in other lots must tailgate within one parking space

Why was Shea Stadium replaced?
The New York Mets’ previous home, Shea Stadium, was replaced to provide the team and area with modern amenities and better access routes. It was demolished in 2009 to create additional parking space for the newly built Citi Field.

Can you bring food into Citi Field?
Citi Field has no official food policy, and many fans report being allowed to take food stored in clear bags. Officially, guests are permitted one sealed water bottle up to 20 oz. Please call the venue and check if you’d like specific information on other food items.
Is it safe to walk to Citi Field?
